EXPECTING AN
ANSWER If you need wisdom—if you want to know what God wants you to do—ask
him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. But
when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a
doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and
tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive
anything from the Lord. They can't make up their minds. They waver back
and forth in everything they do.
– James 1:5-8 (NLT)
Does God answer prayer? Does He really pay any attention to what
we have to say? Is God concerned with what is going on in our lives and
in the situations we find ourselves in? The resounding answer is, Yes!
God answers, has a Fatherly interest in our day-to-day experience, and
has deep concern for us. He desires to answer us when we call.
What God asks of us is faith. When we request something from God
we need to ask expecting Him to answer. It is not a matter of God's
ability, but of our level of belief. When we believe God we receive from
God. When we ask without faith, we should expect nothing from God. What
He desires is that we believe that He will come through for us. Is that
too much to ask? |
