We are the Lexington, Kentucky Chapter of the Biker's for Christ Motorcycle Ministry. We have members who have come from many different backgrounds. Yet we have a common mission to reach those who are far away from God. We also spend time together in Bible Study, times of fellowship, and of course, riding our bikes!

We are about love, respect, and brotherhood. Above all, we are disciples of Jesus Christ and seek to follow Him in every area of life, including loving those who many have deemed unlovable and unreachable.

Membership

Membership in BFC is not automatic. While we do not have an official prospect period, we are also not a ministry where you can just purchase a patch. We require that you spend some time getting to know us, and vice versa. When, and if, we believe there is a ministry fit, you will be offered an application for membership (time for this can vary).

The following are minimal requirements:

1. You must be a Bible believing Christian (male or female) and must be a member/consistent attendee of a bible believing, Christian church. We're sorry but controversial/heretical churches and cults do not qualify. Contact us or check out the charter on the National website for more details about this.

2. You must own and ride a motorcycle: 500cc or larger .Spouses who are only passengers may also apply.

3. You must have a desire to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

4. You must make a covenant before God, yourself and us that you will not engage in drunkenness, use illegal drugs or participate in illegal or immoral practices (including crude language or swearing) or sowing discord as a member of this ministry. You must not let others wear your patch or do anything to discredit Christianity or your brothers and sisters in Christ. It is between you and God, so be faithful to Him. We won't follow you around, but we pray that you won't wear your patch if you aren't walking right. If you are discovered participating in any of the above practices, or if you leave active membership, we will ask for the patch back. If your patch privileges are revoked, we will hang it up for you and hold it until you get things straightened out. No money will be refunded. We ask you to be honest with yourself, God and us in these matters.

Some of the ways in which BFC is unique are:

*We are an International, inter-denominational ministry.
*We do not have titles like: "president", "vice-president", "secretary."
*We do not have a prospect process, although you will need to spend time with our chapter to make sure this is the right fit for both of us before you are given an application. The time for this can vary.
*We trust the Holy Spirit to keep the membership in line. Each person is on their honor and commitment with God to walk straight as a minister of the Gospel and to lay their own back patch down if they backslide.
*We do not act as "church police" and we do not shoot our wounded. We fully support other worthwhile motorcycle clubs and ministries.

BFC has grown to over 2,300 members. There are chapters in 49 states including Alaska and Hawaii and 10 different countries.

Staying true to our original purpose, each BFC chapter operates under an elder and the local church. A national administrator oversees the regional elders, handles finances and merchandise as well as application filing and review.

Our Patch (2-Piece)

Bottom Rocker: We have three colors on our bottom rocker. The blue is a simple outline. The black symbolizes Jesus' death on the cross and that we are to be dead to sin and alive to Christ. The red symbolizes the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ whose blood was shed for the sins of the world.

Sword: The sliver sword in the center of the patch symbolizes Hebrews 4:12 and Ephesians 6:17 which clearly state that the "Sword of the Spirit" is the Word of God.

Wings: The wings are symbolic of the Holy Spirit's presence and power in the life of the believer. They are in a myriad of colors so as to not identify with any other group.

Open Bible: This tells us that God's Word is to be opened, studied and applied to all areas of our daily life.

Flames: These, above the wings symbolizes the fire of God - the Holy Spirit's purging influence as He burns the chaff off, cleansing and changing the believer's life. The "777" on the Sword: This symbolizes a trinity of perfection - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We are not an MC (Motorcycle Club) so we do not wear that designation on our patch.
